Welcome

Welcome to the blog site for Vaughn College's flight training initiative with Redbird Flight Simulations. The College community is particularly interested in student observations about the program, learning environment, the city of San Marcos and more. The College is keenly excited about this venture and what it might mean to the future of aviation education. Good luck to all.

  1. As I arrived into San Marcos Texas on January 3rd 2012, Roger Sharp was very kind to take the Vaughn college selected students out to dinner. Then on Wednesday we got to business at 8am. We began by discussing the program stages that we will complete before we move on to the next stage. The people here at Sky-port are very friendly funny, and serious about getting the work done. They have taken care of us as if we were their children with lots of love and respect, and feed us with great lunch and dinner everyday since our arrival.
I feel in a nice relax environment in where I can get work done. The facility is amazing, I love it my favorite part in the facility is the pilot lounge room I love being in there all day on the nice leather recliners, cable, WiFi flat HD TV cannot complain. Tomorrow on Friday January 6, 2012 I will be going up to perform the first stage of my simulator training in the actual skyhawk 172 aircraft.

  2. On January 7, 2012 we received a great surprise from Martha and John King. They arrived at skyport on their Citation Mustang which was awesome. I was very pleased to meet them once again at skyport, and just in time I had just completed their ground school online course, and received my certificate of completion. The best part was they autographed my certificate. Today Jan 8,2012 we went back to skyport on our day off to work on our pre-solo exams really hard. Mr. Kaplan arrived last night we spoke to him at skyport he is such a wonderful person he is taking us to the supermarket to buy food, because were running low on our budget but it is very kind of him to helps out in our time of need.
